Trading sluggish on HCM City exchange

HA NOI (Biz Hub)— The VN-Index pared yesterday's gains on the HCM City Stock Exchange, declining 0.3 per cent to 498.52 points.

Trading was sluggish with just VND280.6 billion (US$13.2 million) worth of over 16.4 million shares traded.

Nearly two-thirds of the 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity tracked by the VN30 dropped in value. Only five managed to rally. They were Phu My Fertiliser (DPM), Eximbank (EIB), property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG), steelmaker Hoa Sen (HSG) and private equity group Masan (MSN).

The VN30 also lost 0.3 per cent to reach 551.58 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 61.98 points, a 0.3 per cent decrease.

Trading value on the northern bourse was also low. Nearly 7.1 million shares change hands to total VND66.13 billion ($3.1 million).

The HNX30, representing the exchange's top 30 shares, shed 0.23 per cent to 114.91 points. - VNS
