Shares rise in HCM City, slightly lose ground in Ha Noi

HA NOI - Benchmark indices continued to rise in HCM City but failed to retain gains in Ha Noi.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 0.08 per cent to reach 495.07 points.Trading value on the bourse this morning reached VND455.8 billion (US$21.5 million), accounting for 93 per cent of last Friday's entire session. Trading volume fetched nearly 15.6 million shares.

Among the 30 stocks tracked by the VN30, 11 codes increased while 12 listed shares retreated. Commercial baker Kinh Do (KDC) and software developer FPT (FPT) led the rise with 4.6 per cent and 3 per cent, respectively. The VN30 index rallied 0.34 per cent to 547.46 points.

Meanwhile, the HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange shed 0.18 per cent to 62.09 points.

Trading was slugglish, with only 6.48 million shares worth a turnover of VND50.36 billion ($2.3 million) changing hands.

The HNX30 which represents Ha Noi's top 30 shares, however, put on 0.27 per cent to 115.65 points.—VNS
