HA NOI (Biz Hub) —The Hang Seng Index (HSI) in Hong Kong jumped 234.71 to close at 23,219.19 on Thursday, but was the only gainer of the day in Asian stock markets.
Vietnamese bourses ended down, with the VN Index in HCM City losing 2.09 points to finish at 492.30, and the Ha Noi HNX Index declining 0.05 points to end at 61.00.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 13.24 points to end at 14,157.25, while the Topix Index (TPX) lost 1.17 points to finish at 1,173.99.
The Straits Times Index (STI) declined 7.79 points to finish at 3,144.8 in Singapore .
With mainland China enjoying National Day until October 7, the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) remained at 2,174.67.— VNS
