HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam's stocks closed higher on Monday, with the VN Index gaining 6.02 points, or 1.24 per cent, to finish the HCM City session at 492.63. The Ha Noi bourse added 0.55 points to end at 60.95.
In China, the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) gained 14.64 points to close at 2,174.66.
However, Hong Kong shares had their heaviest loss in a month on Monday, ahead of a one-day holiday, with the Hang Seng Index finishing down 1.5 per cent at 22,859.9 points.
Tokyo stocks also closed sharply lower Monday, with the Nikkei Stock Average falling 304.27 points (2.06 per cent) to end the day at 14,455.80, the largest decline since August 20.— VNS
