HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Some 80 golfers will compete in the first-ever tournament to be held on Phu Quoc Island on May 16.

The tournament has been organised to mark the opening of the 27-hole Vinpearl Phu Quoc Golf Course with international standards as well as the Vinpearl Phu Quoc Golf Club on the island.

With prizes worth VND2 billion (US$92,600) to be distributed, the tournament will be a great opportunity for golfers, said the group.

On the list of prizes are a Ducati Scrambler motorbike worth VND300 million ($13,888) and a Mercedes-Benz C200 luxury car worth VND1.3 billion ($60,000).

Apart from the main prizes, players who perform well will be awarded attractive, special gifts, noted the group

Spanning 100ha, the golf course will be a part of Vinpearl Phu Quoc Premium of international standard. It will be the largest golf course on the island of Viet Nam and the second one of its kind after Vinpearl Nha Trang. — VNS
