HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The giant Vietnamese steelmaker, Hoa Sen Group, has been listed as one of the six fastest-growing companies in East Asia.

The only Vietnamese company on the list, Hoa Sen Group was invited to join the Global Growth Companies community at the World Economic Forum in East Asia, which is taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The other five companies in the region are Amata Corporation of Thailand, GrabTaxi of Malaysia, Sritex/Sri Rejeki Isman and Tokopedia of Indonesia and Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia.

"The World Economic Forum is proud to recognise these six companies that are at the forefront of driving responsible economic growth, job creation and entrepreneurism in East Asia. We look forward to the active and dynamic role they will play at our meeting in Jakarta, working with the region's leaders to foster inclusive, sustainable growth in the region," said David Aikman, managing director and head of new champions at the World Economic Forum.

Global growth companies are fast-growing companies with the potential to become global economic leaders.

The nominated companies represent a broad cross-section of industry sectors and share a track record of exceeding industry standards in revenue growth, promotion of innovative business practices and demonstration of leadership in corporate citizenship.

Selection as global growth companies provides companies with an opportunity to join the existing global growth companies community of over 380 enterprises in the world.

These companies contribute to the forum's meetings, projects and knowledge products, which in turn support them on their path to achieve responsible and sustainable growth.
