HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Republican Unitary Enterprise Belarus Automobile Plant (BELAZ) wants to provide mining and transportation services to Viet Nam.
The vehicle maker's representative said this at a conference, entitled "Belaz accompanies Viet Nam's mining industry," in Ha Noi on October 31.
The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and the vehicle manufacturer to increase co-operation between the two parties in the mining sector.
Nguyen Manh Quan, director of MIT's Department of Heavy Industry, said that Belaz is among the world's largest truck manufacturers whose products are mainly used in the mining industry.
The event offered the two sides a chance to seek co-operation opportunities, Quan said.
Belaz's representative said that the company has established the Belaz Invest Company in Viet Nam to produce and assemble its vehicles' parts to provide services to Viet Nam's mining sector.
Belaz manufactures heavy-duty and super-size load capacity mining dump trucks, as well as other heavy vehicles. Its vehicles, used for moving earth and extracting minerals, are distributed in 70 countries, representing 30 per cent of the world's population. — VNS
