Shares end higher for Japan, lower for others

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Investors in Japan felt good today as their shares ended higher, unlike those in other markets.

In Viet Nam the VN Index lost 1.11 points to finish the HCM City session at 485.11, while the Ha Noi bourse gained 0.06 points to end at 60.30.

The benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) shed 42.71 points to 2,155.81, while the Hang Seng Index (HSI) declined 84.60 points to close at 23,125.03 in Hong Kong. The Straits Times Index (STI) lost 14.82 points to finish at 3,193.8.

On the gaining side, the Nikkei 225 (NKY) added 178.59 to close at 14,799.12 and the Topix Index (TPX) also added 9.34 to finish at 1,220.49. — VNS
