Shares continue to slide on low demand

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares continued to make losses today due to low demand on the HCM City Stock Exchange.

The VN-Index dropped 0.33 per cent to close at 600.13 points.

Trading was sluggish, with only 43.9 million shares worth VND733.2 billion (US$34.58 million) changing hands, a 27 per cent fall over yesterday morning.

The performance of the exchange's largest 30 stocks drove the VN30 Index down 0.17 per cent, to end at 637.15 points. Only six stocks rose marginally.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.66 per cent to finish at 80.07 points, while the HNX30 fell 0.61 per cent to end at 160.6 points.

However, the trading value posted a major increase to reach VND937.4 billion ($44.2 million) with the exchange of 50.5 million shares. — VNS
