Stocks tumble in morning trading

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Stocks fell on the two stock exchanges this morning, led by blue chips.

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the benchmark VN-Index fluctuated around 600 points before ending at 605.91 points, down 0.13 per cent.

The VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, fell 0.32 per cent to close at 641.97 points.

The market value declined more than 30 per cent compared with yesterday morning, reaching just VND671.5 billion (US$32 million) on a total volume of 41 million shares.

FLC Group (FLC) continued to lead the trading here with 4.4 million shares changing hands, rising 0.76 per cent to finish at VND13,300 per share.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also fell 0.20 per cent to end the morning at 80.23 points.

More than 24 million shares, worth nearly VND265 billion ($12.6 million), were exchanged.

PetroVietnam Construction Corporation (PVX) was the most active code with 3.93 million shares being traded at VND4,700 per share.
