HA NOI (Biz Hub) — While Japanese and Hong Kong celebrated their national festivals on Monday, mixed results were reported for Asian markets.
Viet Nam experienced lower results as the HNX Index losing 0.13 points to end at 60.50 in the capital city, while the VN Index lost 0.91 points to end at 493.62 in HCM City. The Straits Times Index (STI) in Singapore also lost 10.85 points to finish at 3,168.9.
On the other hand, the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) closed up 9.63 points to 2,237.77 in China.
Exchange floors in Japan were closed due to Health and Sports Day, with the Nikkei 225 remaining at 14,404.74 and the Topix Index (TPX) at 1,197.17. Hong Kong was also closed due to Monday's Chung Yeung Festival, so the Hang Seng Index (HSI) stood at 23,218.32. — VNS
