HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Most of the Asian stock indices lost value in the Thursday trading session.
Japanese share prices dropped again after Wednesday rebounds, with the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tokyo Price Index losing 1.32 points to close at 1,237.75 and the Nikkei 225 declining 95.95 points to reach 14,973.53.
Chinese indexes fell in all markets, with the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index losing 82.27 points to reach 23,175.02 and the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index declining 3.24 points to end at 2,051.71.
South Korean, Thai and Indonesian share prices also ended lower, while stock markets in Singapore, New Zealand, Laos and the Philippines witnessed slight and moderate gains.
In Viet Nam, the benchmark VN-Index added 3.41 points to close at 573.77 on the HCM City Stock Exchange, and the HNX-Index inched up 0.37 point to end at 76.29 on the Ha Noi bourse. — VNS
