HA NOI ( Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 jumped 420.87 points to reach 14,417.68 in Tokyo, while the Topix Index added 30.46 points to finish at 1,166.55 on April 16.
The Hang Seng Index also gained 18.28 points to end at 22,689.54 in Hong Kong, while the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China gained 3.52 points to finish at 2,105.12.
The Straits Times Index edged up 8.07 points to end the day at 3,254.4 in Singapore, but both the bourses in Vietnam ended lower. The VN-Index fell 11.80 points to close at 574.29 in HCM City, while the HNX Index closed down 1.67 points to end at 82.67 in the capital city. — VNS
