Ha Noi to host international shipbuilding exhibition

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Eighth International Exhibition on Shipbuilding, Shipping and Offshore Technology (Vietship2016) will take place from February 24 to 26 at the National Convention Centre in Ha Noi.

The exhibition, hosted by the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC), is expected to present a good opportunity to enterprises to share experiences, update to advanced technologies and seek investment opportunities as part of efforts to accelerate the development of global and domestic shipbuilding industries.

The fair hopes to attract 130 companies from 15 countries such as Viet Nam, Germany, the Netherlands and France, besides Japan.

The exhibition will also hold a workshop to discuss policies and development strategies for the shipbuilding industry.

Vietship is the largest and oldest established exhibition in Viet Nam that showcases all aspects of shipbuilding, shipping and offshore technology. Since its first event in 2002, Vietship has become the convergence platform for regional and global advanced technologies in shipbuilding and ship repair, marine equipment, waterway transportation and services and marine and offshore engineering, Deputy General Director of SBIC Ngo Tung Lam said.

Vietship 2014 had 200 stalls by more than 110 companies, including those from nations with large marine industries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China, as well as the Netherlands, Poland, Finland and Norway. — VNS
