VPBank on Thursday announced funding of VND1 billion (US$43,000) in 2018 for its "VPBank Talent" "Home of Talent" scholarships.

The funds will subsidise 10 golden scholarships with VND15 million each and 35 silver scholarships with VND10 million for the top third and fourth year university students on banking, finance, business administration, accounting and auditing courses nationwide.

Students will also have opportunities to work for VPBank with professional training.

Students will have to go through two rounds to gain the scholarship: Potential Awakening and Talent Shining.

The bank plans to launch the Home of Talent scholarship with more than 100 scholarships awarded to students with outstanding results under an agreement signed with universities.

VPBank has become one of largest commercial joint stock banks in the country. It is in the top five biggest banks in terms of profit.

VPBank has targeted to be in the top 3 most valuable banks in Viet Nam by 2022.
