Japanese retailer Aeonmall has brought to Viet Nam Role Play Contest, which it has been organising in its home country for more than 20 years.
The contest is organised to encourage employees to show their knowledge of goods and products sold at Aeonmall, ingenuity in handling difficult situations and customer service.
The final was held on Friday.
The contest, which had the slogan “Touch the heart – Spread the smile”, saw nearly 400 employees from Aeonmall’s four outlets in Viet Nam take part.
In the first round, contestants had three minutes to welcome a customer, understand their needs, suggest the most suitable products, convince the customer, and close the sale.
In the second round, 108 contestants were challenged by “demanding customers”.
The eight top contestants took part in the final after undergoing intensive training from Japanese experts.
Their challenge was to convince “customers” to buy five items determined by the judges within five minutes through great product understanding and by adopting a proper attitude.
Iwamura Yasutsugu, general director of AEONMALL Viet Nam, said: “Role Play Contest was a way for us to honour those employees who have whole-heartedly pursued Aeonmall’s business philosophy of ‘Customer First’.” — VNS
