HA NOI (Biz Hub) — VinEco, a subsidiary of Vingroup, will send its first batch of fresh vegetables to the local market on October 1, a company representative said.

The company's products, grown on large farms, will be distributed in Vinmart supermarkets and Vinmart+ convenient stores across the country, after six months of its involvement in agriculture.

VinEco said it would supply each day more than 30 tonnes of fresh vegetables such as morning glory, bitter melons, sweet melons and radish, besides red spinach, green spinach, amaranth as well as pumpkins, lettuce and cucumbers grown under global GAP and VietGAP standards.

VinEco said the vegetables were grown in Tam Dao in Vinh Phuc Province, Cu Chi in HCM City and Long Thanh in the southern Dong Nai Province, where they employed Japanese technology.

The company said it would release the first batch of fresh vegetables grown in greenhouses with Japanese and Israeli technology in December.

VinEco was set up on March 23 this year with a charter capital of VND2 trillion (US$93.8 million). It aims to be involved in agricultural activities across the country and focus on applying advanced technology to farming. — VNS
