HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — SC VivoCity, one of the most modern shopping malls in HCM City, celebrated its grand opening on Sunday in the presence of President Truong Tan Sang.

Jointly built by Saigon Co.op Investment Development Joint Stock Company (SCID) and Singapore's Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd, the US$100 million, five-storey mall offers the latest fashions, a hypermarket, a cineplex and lifestyle, entertainment, education, and dining outlets.

Located on Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard in District 7, SC VivoCity has attracted plenty of visitors since it opened in April. On average, it gets over 700,000 visitors a month, Nguyen Thi Tranh, SCID's CEO, said.

The footfall is expected to increase further as more retailers, including many international brands opening their first store in Viet Nam, set up shop at the mall, she said, revealing that almost 90 per cent of its 62,000sq.m area has been leased. — VNS
