HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — New-age carrier Vietjet today announced it will launch a new international route linking HCM City with Hong Kong later this year.

The announcement was made in front of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is on an official visit to Hong Kong, and other leaders from Hong Kong.

The newest route will commence operations on December 9. With a flight time of two hours and 45 minutes per leg, the new route departs daily from HCM City at 2.35pm (local time) and arrives at Hong Kong International Airport at 6.20pm. The return flight takes off at 7.20pm (local time) and lands at 9:05pm.

Tickets for the route are available at www.vietjetair.com.

"Vietjet is well-positioned to serve quality and creative aviation services across our primary international network, while also connecting key regional destinations with each other, including Hong Kong. Our mission is to make air travel accessible to everyone and a more popular means of transportation and to create a future in the air," the airline said in its statement.

"We believe that our new route will better connect these two dynamic financial hubs and tourism destinations," it added.

Besides providing opportunities to travel by plane at affordable prices, the airline is working hand-in-hand to promote social, cultural and entertainment activities, such as Hue Festival 2016's Hot Air Balloon Festival.

In its latest move, Vietjet will partner with electronic dance music (EDM) star and renowned music producer Martin Garrix and host several interesting activities at Viet Nam's largest ever electronic EDM concert at Ecopark Ha Noi on September 18.

The concert will begin at 4pm and continue for eight hours with special guest DJs, besides Garrix's performances. The audience will enjoy the famous DJ's hit songs backed by a world-standard sound system, the first of its kind in Viet Nam. — VNS
