Việt Nam introduces products in Australian long-standing food fair

The Vietnamese Embassy and trade office in Australia have organised a Vietnamese booth at the Good Food and Wine Show 2024 in Brisbane, Queensland, from Friday to Sunday.

This is a practical activity to implement the Economic Diplomacy Project 2024 to promote trade and increase the presence of Vietnamese brands and products in Australia, thereby promoting export opportunities, bringing Vietnamese agricultural products and food into local distribution channels.

Good Food and Wine Show is the largest and oldest food and wine fair in Australia with more than 300 booths, attracting about 100,000 visitors in the cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.

The Vietnamese booth at the fair displays and introduces the country's strong agricultural and aquatic product brands such as durian, mango, dragon fruit, shrimp, frozen fish, vermicelli, dried phở, cashew nuts, coffee, pepper, dried nuts, spices, chili sauce, soy sauce, vegetable, root and fruit powder, and herbal teas.

In particular, the booth also displays samples of some fashion products made from banana fiber, a creative direction of Vietnamese enterprises in their efforts towards a green and sustainable economy.

On this occasion, the embassy introduced the "Doing Business Guide Việt Nam" compiled by Asialink Business, to provide more useful information for Australian businesses interested in and wanting to penetrate the Vietnamese market.

Through practical trade promotion measures, Việt Nam's agricultural products have grown impressively in Australia in recent times.

Việt Nam’s agricultural product exports to Australia have seen remarkable growth, with a nearly 50 per cent year-on-year increase in the first four months of this year.

In April alone, the country's exports surged 80 per cent, led by a remarkable 300 per cent rise in coffee exports and a 42 per cent increase in cashew nuts.

The success highlights the strong demand for Vietnamese goods and underscores Việt Nam’s commitment to solidifying its footprint in the Australian market. — VNS
