HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Nestle Professional is collaborating with food hygiene and safety agencies in 10 cities and provinces to train street food sellers in food safety.

The training programme, to include both theory and practice, will instruct trainees in cooking regional specialities, provide them with food processing knowledge and skills and raise their awareness about producing quality food with clear origins.

Food hygiene and safety is a major concern for everyone in the country. Street food processors and sellers play an important role in ensuring food safety, especially in big cities where a high percentage of people eat outside.

To be held from September 12 to the end of October in Can Tho, Tien Giang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Da Nang, Hue, Ha Noi, and HCM City, the programmes are expected to train 1,000 street food producers and traders.

Laurent Deniau, Nestle Professional's sales manager in Viet Nam, said the company wanted to expand the programme to other places. — VNS
