Industrial property developer KCN Vietnam Group on Friday broke ground on the first phase of a warehouse in the Nhơn Trạch VI Industrial Park in Đồng Nai Province with over 97,000 sq.m of leasable space.

Phase 1 will have more than 44,000 sq.m and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of2025.

It will offer easy access to the country’s major transportation routes and key infrastructure like Long Thành International Airport and Cát Lái and Cái Mép international ports.

The developer is eyeing LEED Gold certification for sustainability, an increasingly crucial consideration for investors looking for industrial properties.

“The Đồng Nai Industrial Zones Management Board welcomes the company’s efforts and serious investment in developing modern industrial infrastructure, particularly projects aimed at fostering green industrial development within the province,” Nguyễn Trí Phương, its head, said.

“We believe this project will further enhance Đồng Nai's competitive capacity, facilitate the growth of the logistics sector, attract FDI and encourage the presence of international businesses in the area.”

The project marks a significant milestone in the company's investment strategy for the industrial real estate sector.

Since the beginning of 2024 it has broken ground on four new industrial projects in key economic zones and industrial parks in both the north and south of the country, delivering nearly 400,000sq.m of new industrial floor space to the market.

These projects include ready-built warehouses and factories and mixed-use industrial spaces, contributing to job creation and attracting FDI.

Hardy Diec, COO of KCN Vietnam, said: “In addition to our existing projects at the Hố Nai and Nhơn Trạch V industrial parks, we are excited about the new project at Nhơn Trạch VI, which aims to provide internationally standardised warehouse space to the market.”

The Southeast region is Việt Nam’s largest hub for industry and logistics, and plays a key role in the national supply chain, handling nearly 50 per cent of the country's total cargo and over 60 per cent of container throughput at ports.

Thanks to its strategic location and industrial zones, Đồng Nai is a pioneer in both regional and national logistics development.

It aims for annual growth of 30 – 35 per cent in the logistics sector and account for 20 – 25 per cent of the country’s GDP from services by 2030. — VNS
