HA NOI (Biz Hub) — India announced anti-dumping duties on Plain Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) imported from Viet Nam and Indonesia, according to the Viet Nam Competition Authority (VCA).
VCA on April 28 quoted a conclusion issued by the Indian Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) that the price of MDF exported to India was very low, causing significant damage to the Indian MDF industry.
The investigation was carried out after Greenply Industries Ltd and Mangalam Timber Products Ltd sued for damages in May last year.
The investigation concluded that dumping margins and damage margins would be 0-15 per cent and 10-40 per cent, respectively, on Vietnamese businesses who answered its questionnaires and dumping margins of 30-40 per cent and damage margins of 35-45 per cent would be applied for those who did not.
Vietnamese businesses have to send their complete questionnaires to DGAD prior to May 2, 2016. — VNS
