A visiting delegation of 12 Turkish companies from the houseware and kitchenware industry met with over 40 Vietnamese counterparts to explore tie-ups at a business matching event in HCM City on Tuesday.
The event was part of an industrial trade mission to Việt Nam from November 5 to 9 organised by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB).
Adil Pelister, chairman of İKMİB, said Turkish producers have been investing at an increasing rate to meet the demand for glass houseware, chinaware, ceramics, and cutlery in addition to plastics, iron, copper, and aluminum houseware.
“Turkish houseware and kitchenware companies are focusing on product design and differentiation in brand creation, advanced technology use and quality production.”
Export of their products is rapidly rising and today the products are sold in over 160 countries, he said.
Việt Nam is among the countries with the highest growth potential in the world, so the association has organised the industrial trade mission to Việt Nam to study the marker and explore business opportunities.
“We will introduce our high-quality and affordable Turkish products to Vietnamese businesspeople.”
Turkey’s houseware and kitchenware exports to Việt Nam was worth $1.3 million in 2022, and are expected to reach $1.5 million this year, he said.
“We believe that our trade mission can assume a significant role to become the main supplier to Việt Nam.”
Ali Küçük, a director of İKMİB, said a retail tour was organised to help Turkish exporters understand the Vietnamese market.
