Trungnam Group (TNG) and the People's Committee of Vinh Long Province kicked off the construction of Nguyen Hieu Tu High School on July 11.
According to the province, it was part of the activities commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, while the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vung Liem District also handed over a solidarity house, which TNG funded in the locality.
TNG is funding Nguyen Hieu Tu High School with VND143 billion on 1.2 ha with a modern and scientific design meeting national standards.
The school consisting of four blocks, a multi-purpose house, and ancillary works, serving 1,200 students with 24 classrooms and 28 function rooms, is expected to be completed in 2022.
The Deputy General Director of TNG said: "TNG carries out the social responsibility, particularly in education with our business activities. With future generations of the country being well trained in a professional and modern school, the construction of schools will always bring enormous revenue in uncountable profits."
"Sponsoring the construction of Nguyen Hieu Tu High School in Vinh Long is a contribution to education and a gesture by TNG to honour the achievements of the late PM's efforts and determination, particularly in the electricity industry, which encouraged private investors like Trungnam to continue in the industry."
On March 18, the group and the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front awarded Vinh Long Province VND56 billion for constructing 1,573 "great solidarity houses" for the poor across the region.
According to the plan, the funding will help build 300 houses in the Vung Liem District. Up to now, 80 houses have been completed, tested and handed over to the people for use.
The group established the "Sustainable Development" orientation for the next five years in 2022, ushering in a new chapter in the company's business development strategy.
The emphasis is on the 3P platform: People - Planet - Profit. Trungnam Group realises these through specific actions to ensure that the "Sustainable Development" goals of growth and environmental benefits are balanced while promoting corporate social responsibility.
Trungnam Group has constructed five high-quality schools to date: Dam Quang Trung Secondary School (Da Nang City), Dang Chi Thanh Middle School (Ninh Thuan Province), Van Ly Secondary School (Ha Nam Province) and Chau Hoa Secondary School (Ben Tre Province). With a total education funding of more than VND800 billion, 5,000 students are served across many provinces and cities.
TNG will continue to complete and sponsor work on Ky Son High School in Nghe An Province and Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted in Hoa Binh Province, which will be ready soon. — VNS
