HA NOI (Biz Hub) – Seventeen businesses from South Korea's Bucheon City are showcasing their prominent export products at a trade fair which opened on Thursday in the capital.

On display are machinery and equipment, home appliances, footwear and cosmestics.

The fair aimed to help businesses expand their export outlets across Viet Nam, said Cho Sung Man, chairman of the Bucheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The chairman said he believed that the event would make effective contributions to advertising Korean products in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia as a whole.

Vice chairman of the Viet Nam Federation of Mechanical Engineering Associations, Ta Quang Mai, described the event as a good opportunity for the two business communities to form new partnerships.

South Korea is one of Viet Nam's largest trade partners. Two-way trade hit US$22.7 billion in the past 10 months, up 33 per cent year-on-year.

It is also Viet Nam's second biggest source of foreign investment after Japan. In the past 10 months, Korean investors pumped approximately $4.02 billion into 3,480 projects in Viet Nam, accounting for 20.9 per cent of the total foreign direct investment registered in the country during the period.
