Atlassian, Pyramid launch development center in Viet Nam

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Atlassian, a leading provider of collaboration software for teams, has partnered with creative digital and software company Pyramid Consulting to launch a development center in HCM City.

The new centre in Etown 3 in Tan Binh District will focus on developing new features and plug-ins for Atlassian JIRA, industry-leading issue management software, and Confluence, its best-in-class team and content collaboration platform.

"In the next six months, we're expanding the team with another 30 software engineers, designers, and product managers to grow this development center," said Jean-Michel Lemieux, vice president of engineering at Atlassian.

"Viet Nam is home to hundreds of thousands of talented technical people. We were looking for a team that is as passionate as us about creating awesome products," said Lemieux.

To mark the occasion, Atlassian and Pyramid Consulting are donating VND200 million (US$9,500) to the global non-profit organisation Room to Read to establish two libraries in Tien Giang Province that will serve more than 630 children and thousands more in the future. —VNS
