Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company Limited (Shinhan Finance) has been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia by HR Asia, one of Asia’s leading publications for HR professionals.

The awards involve a strict evaluation process.

Experts from HR Asia were convinced by the various activities to create positive total experience for Shinhan Finance’s employees, especially training/development and employee engagement activities, the company said in a release.

Training and development at Shinhan focuses on three pillars: personal development, technical skills and leadership development.

Self-learning is encouraged via e-learning platform, library, book exchange, and sponsorship for foreign languages and professional certificates. Employee engagement is identified as one of the top business priorities. An Employee Engagement Survey is done regularly to get inputs and feedback.

“Receiving The Best Companies to Work for in 2020 award for the first time is an encouragement to the commitment Shinhan Finance makes to our employees,” Atul Dixit, the company’s CEO, said.

“We realise that to continue having the best workforce we need to create an environment that empowers our people to bring out the best of them, while providing them opportunities and support to grow their career.

“We also know how important it is for today’s employees to work in an organisation that is making a positive impact on not only its customers but also beyond, and provide our employees with time back to support community initiatives and charities they are passionate about.”

This year HR Asia gave away the awards in 12 markets: Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, and Viet Nam.

In Viet Nam, 308 companies were nominated and participated in the evaluation process, and 66 companies were chosen for the award. — VNS
