Me Linh Point Ltd., a joint venture between brewer Sabeco Group and Frasers Property Vietnam, on Tuesday donated 20 thermal cameras worth more than VND1 billion (US$43,300) to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee’s HCM City chapter to support the country’s efforts against COVID-19.

The committee said the cameras would be donated to crowded places like hospitals and medical centres, TV stations, museums, and university dormitories.

Thermal cameras use infrared technology to scan body temperature accurately and without contact, and can cover a larger distance compared to hand-held thermometers.

People working on the frontline, like medical professionals and volunteers, and government organisations, as well as visitors, will benefit from the installation of these thermal cameras.

Lim Hua Tiong, general director of Me Linh Point and CEO of Frasers Property Vietnam, said: “We are grateful to the frontline heroes for their tireless dedication and great sacrifices to keep the community safe. We recognise there is an ongoing need for health and safety technologies. We hope this support will help in the country’s ongoing efforts to fight the pandemic.” — VNS
