The Hoa Binh Construction Group has won bidding to build the Want Want Viet Nam Co., Ltd project in Long Giang Industrial Park in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang province.
Construction started on Thursday with a total contract value of more than VND500 billion (US$21.5 million).
This is the largest industrial plant project in Southeast Asia of Want Want, with an area of 7.5 hectares.
The project includes two main workshops, which are a five-storey rice cake factory and a five-storey milk factory, along with other auxiliary facilities.
Construction time is expected to be 335 days.
Want Want is a famous Taiwanese rice cake brand and being located in the Mekong Delta will create favourable conditions for the firm in terms of available high-quality raw materials.
Hoa Binh Construction Group has also won three other project packages for construction this year.
Two of them are hotels, namely Wink Tran Hung Dao and Wink Tran Phu in the central province of Da Nang, invested by Da Nang Urban Hotel Development JSC.
The total contract value of the two projects is VND790 billion.
The other bidding package Hoa Binh won was the construction of body structure, rough finishing of underground and body parts of trade centre, office, public services and housing in Hoang Mai District, Ha Noi invested by Geleximco Group.
The project is a building with three basements and 25 floors. The total value of the package is about VND164 billion.
The construction time is 300 days. Previously, the group constructed the underground structure of this project. — VNS
