Five Michelin star chefs from France are in HCM City for the second Saigon Gourmet Week which opened on November 20 at Olivier, the authentic Mediterranean restaurant at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza.
They include two-Michelin-star chef Thierry Drapeau from Saint-Sulpice-le-Verdon and one-Michelin star chefs Marc de Passorio from Aix-en-Provence and Geoffrey Poësson from Saint-Maxime.
New to this year’s event are one-Michelin-star chefs Laurent Azoulay from Méribel and Jean-Francois Bérard from La Cadiére d’Azur.
The culinary programme features a series of lunches, dinners, cooking classes, and a gala dinner, the event’s highlight.
The introduction of the Star Chef brunch for the first time ever on Sunday, November 20, with cooking demonstrations by the five Michelin-star chefs, promises to exceed the expectations of customers by bringing the best foods, wines and service together in one unique location.
The grand gala dinner featuring the Chef Battle contest will be hosted by the Michelin-star chefs along with Sofitel Saigon Plaza Executive Chef Marko Rankel at the hotel’s Diamond Hall on Saturday, November 26.
The Saigon Gourmet Week is co-hosted by the Disciples of Escoffier Vietnam, a French association of more than 25,000 chefs from over 26 countries.
