Seoul Samsung Hospital, Thai Nguyen Department of Foreign Affairs and A Thai Nguyen Hospital, on November 13 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a healthcare volunteer programme between the two countries, with Samsung Vietnam’s support.
The MoU is valid for one year, and is aimed at strengthening and boosting the co-operative relationship in the field of disease prevention and treatment, scientific research and training, and resource support, in order to carry out healthcare activities in the province.
Accordingly, Seoul Samsung Hospital will support A Thai Nguyen Hospital in strengthening their rescue resources, conducting surgery, as well as diagnosing and treating patients in the province for free.
Moreover, Seoul Samsung Hospital will sponsor lectures and workshops, with the participation of experts and advisers, to share information on health technologies which are being used in South Korea.
They will also co-ordinate and consult on basic health issues for doctors in Thai Nguyen and hold training sessions for local residents.
Along with the healthcare volunteer activities, other programs, such as education support, IT lab renovation and computer donations, were also implemented in Thai Nguyen and HCM City. Specifically, the volunteers, in collaboration with Habitat organization, built houses for people in Nga My Commune and Phu Binh in Thai Nguyen Province. — VNS
