HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Bac Lieu Province's People's Committee has approved an architectural design for a five-star hotel to be built in the shape of a Vietnamese moon-shaped lute.

The 16-storey project with a height of 50 metres has construction cost of VND140 billion (US$6.22 million), according to Ngo Xuan Pha, the chairman of the board of directors of Bao Toan Auto Joint-Stock Company, the project's investor.

The hotel has a five-storey base in the shape of a boat with moon-shaped lute storeys. The elevators are designed in the shape of lute strings.

An observatory and coffee bar are located on the hotel's rooftop.

The project with the shape of a moon-shaped lute, the cultural symbol of the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Bac Lieu, is expected to begin construction in September. —VNS
