HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang has approved the valuation of the flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) at VND57.156 trillion, or US$2.72 billion, based on its book value.
The State capital in this amounts to VND10.567 trillion, or $507.79 million.
The airline's valuation is an important basis for VNA's equitisation board to conduct equitisation. VNA plans to launch its initial public offering in September.
Earlier, VNA submitted two methods of valuation to the Minister of Transport, including basing on its book value and an estimate by foreign financial advisers based on international standards. The foreign advisers have said that VNA is worth VND57.047 trillion, or US$2.7 billion, with the State capital amounting to VND23.493 trillion, or US$1.128 billion, as of March 31, 2013. — VNS
