HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Shares retreated this morning on the HCM City Stock Exchange, with the benchmark VN-Index losing 0.03 per cent to hit 554.37 points.

Trading value reached VND442.7 billion (US$20.8 million) on a volume of 35.75 million shares.

The VN30, representing the performance of the bourse's 30 largest shares, slid 0.13 per cent to 554.37 points as most of its stocks closed in the red or unchanged from yesterday's session. Only six of the blue chips managed to rally.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also shed 0.07 per cent to reach 63.81 points. Losers outstripped gainers by 75-59.

With 18.7 million shares changing hands, the value of trades fetched more than VND135.2 billion ($6.3 million).

The HNX30, composed of the northern exchange's 30 leading shares, fell 0.16 per cent to end the morning at 119.93 points. —VNS
