HA NOI – Vietnam Airlines will host the SkyTeam's Governing Board Meeting for the first time here on November 20.

During the annual meeting, chief executive officers of SkyTeam's member airlines will discuss development plans for 2015 with a focus on improving the services' quality. Dialogue between Vietnam Airlines and others in SkyTeam will also be included.

SkyTeam is a global airline alliance providing customers from member airlines access to an extensive global network with more destinations, higher frequency, and better connectivity than a single airline can offer.

Currently, SkyTeam's 20-member carriers offer more than 16,420 daily flights to 1,064 destinations in 177 countries and serve 612 million passengers per year, said its CEO Micheal Wisbrun at a press conference yesterday.

Vietnam Airlines became a member of SkyTeam in June 2010. With close co-operation among members, the national carrier has been expanding its flight network to deeply penetrate the world aviation market while effectively connecting other members with its network in Southeast Asia. – VNS
