HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Honored as the best Asian low-cost carrier, Vietjet keeps surprising customers with its countless and huge promotion campaigns. The airline's latest promotion, in which 300,000 super-cheap fares are up for grabs, once again rocked the public when it was announced just a few days ago.

Nhu Hoa, a third-year student, said she visited Vietjet's website as soon as she heard about the promotion.

"It's unbelievable," Hoa said. "Many discounted fares on Vietjet's domestic and international routes are available. That means more chances for me to travel in the future."

Hoa explained that with a limited budget, she must plan carefully before travelling somewhere. Thus, hunting for promotional air tickets is always her priority.

"Some of my friends always complain about the time they had to set aside to book cheap fares. But for me, it's not a big problem," Hoa said, adding that with a little patience, she has successfully booked three of Vietjet's discounted tickets to Singapore, a destination she and friends have dreamed about for a long time.

Mai Linh who works for a cement retailer in HCM City, said that in addition to inexpensive air fare, she is excited about the timing of Vietjet's promotion.

As a budget traveler, Linh said, she often remains awake until midnight to check for cheap flights. That made her tired and affected her performance at work.

"Vietjet's promotion is convenient, as it runs during lunch time," Linh said. "All I have to do is to stay at my office, enter the airline's website and look for cheap tickets."

"The only hard part is choosing a suitable flying time and destination, since there are many air routes with attractive fares," Linh said with a smile.

Fleet expansion

Vietjet's new promotion, named "Big Sale – It is time to Vietjet", will run from November 11 to November 18. The sale will give away 300,000 promotional fares from zero đồng on all domestic routes and international routes connecting to Bangkok, Singapore, Taiwan, Seoul and Yangon. Travel periods are from December 1, 2015 to May 20, 2016.

Tickets can be booked at www.vietjetair.com (also compatible with smartphones at https://m.vietjetair.com) or at www.facebook.com/vietjetvietnam (just click the "booking" tab).

Despite recognition by many passengers for its impressive promotions, diversified in-flight entertainment activities, quality services and friendly cabin crew, Vietjet does not want to maintain the status quo.

The airline has been expanding its fleet in order to spread its wing to new destinations in Viet Nam and around Asia. It has signed agreements with the world's leading aircraft manufacturers to purchase more brand new and modern aircraft.

During Dubai Air Show, Vietjet inked a deal with aircraft manufacturer Airbus to purchase 30 more A321 aircraft, worth a total of US$3.6 billion, on November 10. This milestone order of nine A321ceo and 21 A321neo signals the airline's breakthrough in terms of seat capacity growth and route network expansion.

"Vietjet has grown faster than expected in the last few years and our previous purchasing plans for new aircraft could not keep up with developing demand. Together with the new aircraft order, we will continue to expand our network, customise services and facilities while still offering the lowest fares in order to ease the travel of people and tourists," Vietjet president and CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said.

Late last week, a brand new aircraft also arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City after flying from Hamburg, Germany.

The aircraft – an A321ceo with Sharklet wingtips – is a tenth of the milestone agreement between Vietjet and Airbus for the acquisition and leasing of 100 aircrafts. It is the latest version of a single-aisle aircraft family manufactured by Airbus.

With this addition to its fleet, Vietjet is now operating 29 brand new and modern A320s and A321s, and providing 190 flights each day.

"With our non-stop developing fleet of modern aircraft, passengers will experience the full suite of Vietjet's high-quality services, as well as opportunities to win economical fares and special surprises from our promotional campaigns," said Desmond Lin, Vietjet's director of business development.— VNS
