E-wallet SmartPay has cooperated with Viet Capital Bank to deploy a new version of QR Pay in the mobile applications of 35 banks across the country.

The new version of QR Pay feature is designed according to the National Payment Services Corporation (Napas)’s QR code standard known as VietQR.

The cooperation would allow all customers using the banks’ mobile apps to scan the new QR code to make real-time payment at any one of SmartPay’s 667,000 payment points.

Launched in May 2019, SmartPay has 14 million individual customers across the country.

It achieved the Level 1 Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification - the highest certification level of the PCI Security Standards Council.

PCI DSS Certificate is a globally recognised security certificate for international card payment service providers with more than 200 requirements on standard compliance to protect the interests of cardholders (customers) and card issuers.

It has also inked deals with many other local and international lenders like VPBank, Vietcombank, LienViet Post Bank and CIMB Bank, making it more convenient for customers to open accounts with the latter.

Last year, it received the “Outstanding Fintech Award” at the Vietnam Outstanding Banking and Fintech Awards 2021 ceremony organised by the Vietnam Banks’ Association and International Data Group.

Viet Capital Bank, established in 1992, aims to become "a modern, multi-purpose and customer-oriented retail bank”, focusing on individual and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The bank last year received “Outstanding innovative banking product/ service (2019) " award organised by International Data Group and Vietnam Banks’ Association.

It was also recognized by the Global Banking & Finance Review magazine as having the "Best retail banking app in Viet Nam for 2021.” — VNS
