A programme called “Đến Co.op chở Tết về” (Come to Co.op to bring Tết home) being held at Saigon Co.op’s 800 outlets has entered an accelerated phase with just over 10 days left for the Lunar New Year.

From January 25 to February 9, Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers, Finelife, Sense City, and SenseMarket continue to offer big discounts on more than 2,000 Tết products, including those that have a short shelf life like bánh chưng (square glutinous rice cake), bánh tét (cylindrical glutinous rice cake), grapefruits engraved with the words Phúc (Happiness), Lộc (Prosperity) or Tài (Wealth), pickled scallion head, pickled onion, sweet soup/ pudding, steamed sticky rice, braised meat with duck eggs, and meat-stuffed bitter melon soup.

This year Co.opmart and Co.opXtra are again taking orders from customers for dishes to offer at their ancestors’ altars. The supermarkets have a large menu featuring meat, vegetarian, ready-to-eat, and ready-to-cook dishes to meet all possible needs.

Customers can order at the website https://cooponline.vn/chuong-trinh-mam-co-gia-tien/ from now until February 1 and delivery will be made on February 8 or 9 (29 and 30 of the last lunar).

The programme is available only in HCM City.

There will be 5,000 gifts worth a total of VNĐ3 billion (US$121,528) in the form of vouchers for workers, and they can buy any product available at https://cooponline.vn/ldld-km/ .Co.opmart and Co.opXtra will deliver the goods.

Saigon Co.op stores will extend their working hours from February 2 to 8, remaining open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. They will open for half a day (6:00 am to noon) on the last day of the lunar year on February 9.

They will open for half a day again from the second to fifth days of the new year (February 11-14).

Operations will return to normal on February 15.

However, customers can order online at the Co.oponline website throughout the Tết holidays, and the supermarkets will deliver according to their needs.

The retailer has seen a big jump in sales and number of shoppers in recent days. Online orders have surged by 50 per cent and are processed and delivered on the same day.
