Insurer Prudential Vietnam has launched PRU-Nhiet Doi, a new digital product that protects against three common tropical diseases: dengue fever, malaria and measles.

It is available for purchase on its Pulse by Prudential app and e-commerce platform Shopee.

Over 22,000 dengue cases and some deaths have been reported in the first six months of the year.

Besides their health effects, the three diseases covered by the policy also create a financial burden, especially amid the current difficult period.

Phuong Tien Minh, CEO of Prudential Vietnam, said: "We recognise the health and financial issues that our clients are facing at this time, and thus Prudential's goal is to provide sensible protection solutions at a low cost. PRU-Nhiet Doi, like other insurance products from Prudential, is easily accessed on popular e-platforms, allowing everyone to be swiftly protected.”

The new insurance product has a fixed premium of VND80,000 for the basic package and VND152,000 for the advanced package for VND5 million (US$218.7) and VND10 million coverage respectively.

Customers are also protected for up to VND5 million per package for death or permanent disability caused by accidents. During the one-year period of protection, customers are only charged once. — VNS
