Liobank, a new digital bank, was officially launched in HCM City on Thursday with many outstanding features.

Launched by Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB), Liobank is designed for young customers, and targets to become the leading digital bank in the country.

With the participation of technological experts from Europe who have a rich experience in building successful digital financial services in many countries around the world, OCB expects Liobank to become a “Super convenient new generation digital bank”, lead the technology trend, be highly personalised and meet all young customers’ needs.

Liobank is aimed at customers who have an active lifestyle, love tech, and have a habit of using cards for daily spending.

Having a friendly interface and streamlined procedures, the bank offer customers all services after just a few simple steps. Liobank said that customers will be able to open a multi-purpose account and immediately know their credit limit. All customer transactions and requests can be done at Liobank without going to the counter or complicated verification paperwork, the bank said, adding that Liobank also waives many fees such as the account opening fee, card issuance fee, annual fee, money transfer fee and other service fees.

In addition, Liobank integrates many different features, creating favourable conditions for customers when spending such as issuing a 2 in 1 card – a combination of credit and debit card (ATM card); receiving a non-physical card after successful registration; choosing the location and time to receive the physical card on the app; delivering a physical card the next day; having a credit limit up to VND300 million (US$12,700); and being refunded up to 10 per cent with a value of up to VND500,000 per month for total transactions per month.

As a digital bank developed specially for young customers who love to experience the convenience of technology, all operations on Liobank are designed to be simplified compared to traditional methods and bring personal convenience, including unique features such as shaking the phone to transfer money; sending money back to the person who sent money without knowing the account number; transferring money to Liobank users in their phone book; naming folders for management and managing invoices.

The launching of Liobank is a testament to OCB’s unremitting efforts to develop the retail banking segment, and is considered a core activity. By focusing on developing strategies to boost business operations, as well as investing in digital transformation strategies, in 2022, OCB received two international awards by Global Brands Magazine, including “"Best Digital Banking Brand " and “Excellence in Retail Banking”. — VNS
