Okura Nikko Hotel Management Co., Ltd. has announced the appointment of Dawson Tan as the new general manager for Hotel Nikko Saigon.
Dawson is a seasoned hotelier with nearly 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Starting his career at Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur in 2002, he cultivated the spirit of “Omotenashi” (Japanese Hospitality) by leading the operations of Benkay Japanese Restaurant, a favourite among royalty, local celebrities, and corporate entities.
In 2007, Dawson embarked on a 17-year career journey in China, starting with the opening team of Hotel Nikko Tianjin as the Japanese restaurant manager. Following a successful launch, Dawson progressed to roles as the F&B manager, director of F&B, and eventually executive assistant manager.
Dawson was then promoted to assistant general manager of Hotel Nikko Guangzhou. During his 12-year tenure at Nikko Guangzhou, Dawson led the team to achieve numerous awards, including the Best Overseas Hotel Award within the Okura Nikko Hotel Group for Best Revenue Improvement in 2018, and the Japanese Restaurant's recognition as the Best Restaurant within the Okura Nikko Hotel Group in 2019.
Dawson's management philosophy is "people-oriented," emphasising the importance of establishing trust and mutual support between customers and employees to achieve their respective goals and dreams.
