Hạnh Nguyên Logistics Joint Stock Company has inaugurated an advanced agricultural irradiation facility in the Phú Hữu A Industrial Cluster on Sunday.
The facility, located in Mái Dầm town in Châu Thành District, Hậu Giang Province, is capable of processing 1,000 tonnes of produce per day.
It employs cutting-edge E-beam and X-ray technology and does not rely on radioactive sources, ensuring no residual radiation on treated products.
This modern approach processes goods three times faster than traditional methods, while preserving their natural flavour and nutritional value.
The irradiation process also reduces costs and time through an integrated service chain encompassing post-harvest preservation and export readiness.
Some markets, including the US, require irradiation for the export of agricultural produce.
Hạnh Nguyên Logistics has upgraded its storage system to accommodate 23,000 pallets and offered internationally certified services, including processing, freezing and packaging that meet HACCP and FSSC 22000 standards, enhancing product quality.
Đào Trọng Khoa, Chairman of the Việt Nam Logistics Business Association, shared that agricultural, forestry and fishery exports reached US$51.74 billion in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a 20.2 per cent increase year-on-year.
Nguyễn Văn Hòa, Vice Chairman of the Hậu Giang People's Committee, stated that Hạnh Nguyên Logistics' investment in an integrated service chain enhances agricultural value and opens growth opportunities for businesses, with the province committed to supporting their development. — VNS
