Manulife Vietnam has announced the appointment of Sang Lee as its new CEO, overseeing the company’s continued transformation to become the digital and customer-centric life insurance company in Viet Nam.

Under Sang’s leadership, Manulife Vietnam will accelerate delivery of innovative new life insurance services and solutions, while continuing to outgrow the market.

Viet Nam is one of the world’s most exciting economies and attractive life insurance markets, offering untapped potential with an upwardly mobile population, Sachin N. Shah, General Manager for Manulife Asia’s Emerging Markets, said.

“We are excited to have Sang leading Manulife Vietnam. Sang is a seasoned executive who will bring a renewed focus on improving the customer experience through digital innovation and operational efficiency, while reinforcing our open and collaborative culture,” said Sachin.

“In order to grow and continue to outpace the competition we need to play to our strengths, adapt to the evolving market landscape, while also addressing the needs of the community. For me there is a real opportunity for our industry to help close the protection gap, improve the life insurance penetration rate, and respond to the public’s growing interest in health and wellness,” Sang said.

He joined Manulife in 2018 as the CEO of Manulife Malaysia, helping increase their market share and significantly grow revenue during his time as leader.

Prior to joining Manulife, Sang held various senior roles in life insurance and asset management over a 28-year career in Asia, including in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Thailand. — VNS
