E-commerce platform Lazada Vietnam last week announced plans to double turnover every year from now through 2020.

Alexandre Dardy, its CEO, said at its fifth anniversary celebrations that the company hopes to increase the number of both consumers and merchants.

“The marketing activities will be not only in HCM City and Ha Noi. They will be widened to other provinces and cities. Trade on mobile devices will also be developed.”

After five years in the country, Lazada has a market share of 36 per cent, he said.

Its website attracts 30 million viewers a month who look at over a million products from 5,000 partners.

There is an order placed every two seconds and 70 per cent of them are from mobile devices, he added.

The company has a warehouse each in Ha Noi, HCM City and Da Nang.

To mark its fifth anniversary in Viet Nam, the company is running many promotions until March 23. — VNS
