French Idec Group launched a logistics and industrial centre worth about US$55 million in Bắc Ninh Province on Thursday.

Spanning 70,000sq.m in Yên Phong IZ, the project promises to become a centre for green industrial activities in Việt Nam, serving foreign and local investors.

Patrice Lafargue, president and founder of GROUPE IDEC, said: “For more than twenty years, we have been putting our unique expertise to good use in France with the development of business and logistics parks, vectors of jobs, regional attractiveness and responsible commitment."

He said Bắc Ninh, 35 kilometres from Hà Nội, was a perfect choice for industrial and logistics businesses with excellent access.

François Maginer, general director of Idec Group Asia Việt Nam, said: “This area boasts one of the highest economic growth rates in the country and is positioning itself as one of the country’s new industrial and logistics hubs.”

Developed on a 12-ha site, Horizon Park has been imagined around multi-temperature platforms and industrial buildings that will eventually propose 70,000sq.m of ready-for-business buildings, for sale or for rent.

The project has four buildings. The first one was finished and occupied since June while the last three others are expected by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

As Việt Nam is an ideal location for investment, they have signed lots of contracts from European and French companies of different fields to move to the project, said the investor. — VNS
