HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Five amateur golfers will represent Viet Nam in the forthcoming World Amateur Golfers Championship in Belek Antalya, Turkey.

These five golfers, Do Viet Hung, Luu Xuan Loc, Phan Thanh Hai, and Nguyen Hong Ngan, in addition to Nguyen Nhu Nguyet, were selected after defeating forty players during the final round of TPBank World Amateur Golfers Championship in northern Vinh Phuc Province on September 24.

One of the winners, Do Viet Hung, said he hoped to bring the beautiful playing style of Vietnamese golfers to the international arena and contribute to promoting culture exchanges between players from Viet Nam and other countries.

Nguyen Van Hao, secretary general of the Vietnam Golf Association spoke highly of the Tien Phong Bank World Amateur Golfers Championship, and added that the amateur golf tournament had helped discover talented players for the Viet Nam's golfing industry.

Earlier in July, TP Bank became the exclusive organiser of the "World Amateur Golfers Championship" (WAGC) in Viet Nam from 2015 to 2017.

During the period, the bank would not only select a Vietnamese team to compete with teams from more than 40 countries for the "World Amateur Golfers Championship", but also sponsor all expenses for the team.

This year, the championship, which is considered one of the world's largest and most prestigious amateur golf tournaments, will take place from November 28 to December 5, 2015 in Turkey with the participation of teams from more than 40 countries. — VNS
