QUANG NGAI (Biz Hub) — Jung Yeon In has been appointed the new chief executive officer and general director of Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam (Doosan Vina).

The company announced in a statement on October 26 that Jung Yeon In, who joined Doosan in 1987 after graduating from Pusan University in South Korea with a degree in machine design, has been working for the company for 28 years.

He spent the first 18 years at Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction in Korea, steadily moving up within the corporation. He was appointed director of the procurement and manufacturing divisions at Doosan Infracore, also in Korea, in 2005.

Jung said, "I'm looking forward to continuing what the previous leaders began and working with our 2,500 Vietnamese employees to see that our momentum not only continues, but accelerates so that we can play an even larger role in Viet Nam's forward march toward becoming a developed country."

He said, "We've come a long way in a few short years, but we've still have a long way to go to reach our goal of becoming, not one of, but ‘the' largest and best heavy industry company on the planet. That is my challenge. I've heard great things about Viet Nam, its leaders and its people. So I am confident that together, as a team, we can do it."

Doosan Vina is a hi-tech industrial complex in the Dung Quat Economic Zone of Quang Ngai Province that employs nearly 2,500 Vietnamese workers. The company supplies mega infrastructure products that make modern life a reality.

In 2014, Doosan Vina exported goods worth US$200 million. In 2015, its total exports are expected to be worth $300 million. — VNS
