Co.opmart, Co.opXtra offer big discounts on Tet confectionery

Many confectionery items and sweets on display at Co.opmart ahead of Tet.

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Tet (Lunar New Year) confectionery market is getting hotter with the country's leading supermarket chain offering steep discounts, especially on local confectionery and sweet brands.

At Co.opmart and Co.opXtra stores, Xuan Hong brand alone has dozens of traditional sweet items for Tet with big discounts. For example, the prices of 500gm boxes of sugar-coated lotus seeds have been reduced from VND91,000 to VND79,700; 600gm boxes of mixed sweets from VND98,800 to VND86,900; and 225gm boxes of roasted cashew nuts from 68,900 to VND60,300.

The supermarkets are also offering discounts on biscuits: the price of a 300gram tin of Kinh Do Cosy butter cookies is down from VND88,300 to VND72,500, and that of a 681gramme Royal Dansk Blue tin, from VND180,000 to VND174,000. Lucky Co.opmart cookies are available at prices ranging from VND48,300 to VND79,900.

Besides confectionery, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra are also offering big discounts on other items like Chinese sausage, pork pies, dried shrimp, sweet and pickled pig's ear, sweet and pickled scallion head, sweet and sour vegetable pickles. They have also begun to increase the supply of fresh foods to meet the increasing demand for Tet.

During the January 22-24 weekend, hundreds of items such as bedsheets, blankets, pillows, plastic cabinets, suitcases, electric cookers, electric irons, toothpastes, shampoos will be sold at cost or discounts of up to 50 per cent at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra.

Then, from January 25 to 27 customers with Co.opmart membership or VIP card will get 20 and 30 reward points respectively for every 40 points they earn for their purchases. – VNS
