Saigon Co.op’s retail systems, including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra and Co.op Food, are offering discounts of 15-25 per cent on pork until April 8.
After it is over, Saigon Co.op will continue work with pork suppliers to launch promotions on pork products.
Pork is included in the city’s years-long programme to stabilise the prices of staple foods and foodstuffs, and so its prices are carefully monitored by authorities.
Besides pork, Co.opmart, Co.opXtra and Co.op Food are also offering big discounts on thousands of other essential goods.
According to Saigon Co.op, stocks are plentiful at its supermarkets and orders via phone increased by nearly 50 per cent during the first week of nation-wide social distancing last week.
Its stores have taken measures to safeguard the health of its staff and customers, with cashiers wearing masks, protective glasses and gloves and lines indicating customers should stay at least two metres away from each other when queuing. — VNS
